I love the fact that I live in Pasadena.
There are so many things to do, to see, to enjoy!
Oh Pasadena... you are my favorite city!
Since I've been living in Pasadena, the city gives free concerts at the Levitt Pavilion. Just a few blocks away from where I live.
I've been there every time I liked a band. Also a friend played there twice and I went to see him.
It's a great alternative in summer if you don't have anything to do.
The concerts are FREE and they start between 7pm and 8pm, from Wednesday to Sunday.
This year I'm planning on going (of course!) and enjoy the music.
Every Wednesday at 7pm they have "Children's Night". Marionettes, drum circle for kids, etc. I'm sure it's fun. I've never been there on Children's Night, but now that I'll be living with L, I'll definitely take her!

Changes in my life ...
There have been so many changes in my life that I barely had time to post anything here.
Since I've been in the States (3 years on June 27th!), I've worked for several families. All of them were really good to me and I loved that.
About a year and a half ago, I started working with this awesome and caring family. They asked me to teach my sweet little girl, Spanish. She knows a lot of words in Spanish, she even speaks the language!
But unfortunately they had to move to SF. I say unfortunately because my Preciosa is kinda far from here, but I also know it was a smart move.
To be honest, I cried when A's dad left first and a week later I cried again when A's mom and her left. I truly miss them. This family is so good to me, we shared a lot of things. They know my mom, my brother. I'm really happy I met them and hopefully I will be visiting them soon.
I also had another job besides my Preciosa A. With L, just a few blocks away from Preciosa's house. She's another cutie. Her dad is from Bulgaria and her mom is Chinese American. And also they want me to teach L Spanish.
Anyway, I'm rambling too much...
Since I couldn't find another job, L's parents offered me a live-in nanny position with them. And I said yes.
So I will be moving to their home July 15th.
I must say it's going to be weird to live with another family but I'm excited. I will be spending more time with L and she will catch up Spanish words easily. They are also expecting a baby, so L will be a big sister!
I'll try and post more frequent this time!

Pasadena Humane Society

So I also babysit sweet A. I've been with her for over a year and she's just a joy!!
I'm teaching her Spanish and she's so cute when she speaks it! I just want to eat her!!
She says a lot of words like when it's time for her lunch she always asks for pollo (chicken) and some agua (water). Right now her favorite word is mono (monkey). She has a cute tshirt with a Paul Frank monkey and when she puts her tshirt on she says mono!!
Anyway, we went today to the Pasadena Humane Society. A shelter for unwanted doggies and kitties. She has 4 kitties and of course she loooooves animals! So we went there today. She was so excited when I told her we were goin to see some woof woofs as she calls the doggies.
There were quite a lot of puppies!
She enjoyed her time there! We went with my brother and she loves my brother! His name's Rene but when he was little he couldn't pronounce his name so we called him Nene, and that name stuck! So every time my brother went a little bit far from where we were she would call him Nene! Ven! (come!) It was so funny!
Well, so we went to the Humane Society and it's free of course. There were puppies, kitties, rabbits and even crows! She would pet them and laugh with them. A would call them (Ven!) and the puppies didn't understand her but she was having a blast.
So that's another option, to go to a shelter and see the animals. Toddlers love them and A would even make the animal's sound! It was so funny to see her talking to the puppies.
I've uploaded some pics!
Enjoy!

Amy's Indoor Playground - South Pasadena

So on Friday L and I went to Amy's Indoor Playground.
I've been there before a couple of times and also for a birthday party.
Our adventure began at 12:45pm. I prepared L's diaper bag and I had to walk to Sierra Madre Villa Station. According to Google maps it was about 32 minutes and we did it in almost 40 cause I had to buy water, it was a really hot day. L lives in East Pasadena.
Anyway, we got to the station and L was a bit fuzzy so I gave her Cheerios (she looooves Cheerios!) and she finally calmed down. We had to wait between 7 and 10 minutes for the train to come. Hopped in and in 15 minutes we were in South Pasadena.
Amy's Playground is just a few blocks away from Mission Station so I didn't have to walk a lot.
The admission is $7 for children under 1 year old and $9 for children over 2 years old.
Adults need socks to go inside the playground as well the children.
For a Friday it wasn't crowded, there were a few kids with their moms. A few kids over the age of 4 and just 3 babies.
It was the first time for L so she was pretty much overwhelmed the first 10 minutes but warmed up slowly and began playing with other kids and with the toys they have in there.
I must say that some of the toys are in really good shape and they are clean. Their bathroom is clean and they have a changing station that is also in good shape.
There's a small section with picnic benches so you can feed your children cause they don't allow any drinks or food in the play area.
Overall it was great for L, cause she enjoyed it. It was a long day for her and on our way back she fell asleep in her stroller.
Walking back to her house I felt we did it in less than 40 minutes, I guess I walked faster!
I still don't know what my next destination will be. To be honest it's kinda hard to find a place in Pasadena for children. But! I will succeed!

First post!
So I decided to write my first post to introduce myself.
I'm a babysitter who uses public transportation in Los Angeles.
I must say I like taking the train cause now it's expanding and I can go almost anywhere. I also take the bus but those are my nightmare! I have to plan it really careful cause I like to be always on time.
So in this blog I'm going to talk about what places to take the kids to have fun, mainly in Pasadena (cause that's where I live) and surrounding areas, later on.
Also, depending on my time I'm planning on doing some reviews on the places I visit, safety measures with kids, tips, etc.
I hope you enjoy it!!
